The SGBA is an accredited training centre for the Royal Yachting Association (RYA). As such we are inspected each year to ensure our facilities and practices are up to their standards.
 
As part of our RYA training programme we offer:
Our courses are only available to SGBA members. The Junior Sailing Course is an annual course held in the May school half term for children 8-11 years. The powerboat and rescue boat courses are run on an ad-hoc basis by Bones (Trevor Black) on behalf of the SGBA.


RYA Online Shop

All the RYA courses are practical on-the-water courses, but a little shore-based theory is always useful
Junior Sailing Courses Powerboat Courses    

Children aged 8-16 years can attend junior dinghy sailing courses organised by the SGBA.

Bones organises Powerboat and Rescue Boat courses for SGBA members on an ad-hoc basis.
