Foreshore Access
Access along the foreshoreto the Boat Store at Mill Point quarry is limited because of the tides. At high tide the path along the foreshore floods near the quay, just past by the SGBA clubhouse and flagpole. There is now an alternative route: up the drive to Woods House, through a field gate on the left, along the footpath along the bottom of that field, through a small wooden gate and down the new steps.
SGBA Vice-Commodore, Neil Millward has calculated when the foreshore is accessible on foot without getting wet. These are available to download as a pdf.
Times in BST/GMT as appropriate. These times are based on Admiralty predictions for the new Stoke Gabriel (Duncannon) secondary port, using Admiralty TotalTide software.
Be aware that actual tide levels are reduced by high barometric pressure (0.1m for each 11 mb above 1015 mb) and increased by strong onshore winds at Dartmouth. Tide times are also affected by these factors.
